Our team at Netbookings has always believed that supporting local businesses is a must. Established in the Mornington Peninsula over 20 years ago, Netbookings has a strong connection to its community, constantly forming new relationships and learning how we can create growth and opportunities for those that we’ve been fortunate enough to share a home with.
We also believe in working with other businesses that share our passion for creating opportunities within our community. Peninsula Hot Springs (Victoria’s first natural hot springs) is a business we have worked closely with for years. The Hot Springs have been involved in a number of ways with our local community, with one particular example being their relationship with Lionel Lauch, an Aboriginal man with heritage from Gunditjmara Kirrae Wurrung and Bundjalung communities. The Hot Springs introduced cultural walks to honour and explore the heritage of the land the Hot Springs resides at, guiding others through an immersive experience that give insights into Aboriginal bush tucker, medicines, and the cultural significance and Dreamtime stories of local landmarks.
Another wonderful example is Polperro Dolphin Swims, with Judith Muir as Owner/Operator and Educator. The Muir family established Polperro Dolphin Swims in 1986, leading the way towards environmentally responsible dolphin interactions. Polperro have been active in establishing and improving legislation that monitors human interaction with the local marine animals and have received many awards in sustainability, training, and education over the years. It would be no exaggeration to say that Judith Muir wrote the book on positive and healthy interactions with the bay, as she quite literally did!
Peninsula Hot Springs, Polperro Dolphin Swims and Lionel Lauch (of Living Culture) are just a few examples of Netbookings working in tandem with locals whose priorities and vision align with ours. We love to see our community grow, and we especially love having a hand in giving those a platform and a means to give back.
