Ask Netbookings
Aug 2, 2026
Ask Netbookings, our new interactive Q&A built right into the back end, and the launch of a completely rebuilt Netbookings website. Here's everything that landed.
Ask Netbookings — the user manual, on tap
Your team can now ask Netbookings a question in plain English from inside the back end and get an answer immediately. No digging through help documentation, no hunting for the right screen, no waiting on a support ticket.
Ask answers straight out of the Netbookings user manual — the same How to documentation your team would otherwise have to go looking for. Ask it how to set up a discount, how to move a booking, what a particular option actually does, or where to find a screen, and you'll get the steps back in plain language, with a link through to the full help article whenever you want the detail behind it.
Where it really earns its keep is the everyday stuff: a new staff member finding their feet in their first week, a casual on a weekend shift with no manager on site, or one of the settings you only touch a few times a year and can never quite remember. Everyone on your team effectively has the manual open in front of them, all the time.
Ask in the back end

A brand new Netbookings website — with Ask built in
We've also launched a completely rebuilt netbookings.com.au: clearer breakdowns of every module and feature, and a Build your system tool that shows you what a Netbookings setup for your specific business would actually look like.
Build your system

The same interactive Q&A runs on the website, so anyone can learn about Netbookings by simply asking. What does it do for a hot springs resort? Which modules would a day spa with a restaurant need? How does memberships work alongside bookings? Visitors get a real answer on the spot — no form to fill in, no waiting on a call back.
If you know an operator who's been putting off looking at their booking system, this is an easy way for them to get their questions answered on their own terms.
Ask on the website

New Accommodation booking experience
Also in the 1 July release: a brand new website Accommodation booking flow, built mobile-first, with real-time checking on everything a guest adds.
- Guests find accommodation by arrival date, nights and guest count
- Flexi — a 7, 14 or 30 day window that automatically searches for the best available price across those dates
- A new interactive Suggestions screen offered as soon as accommodation is added to the cart, so bathing, dining and treatments can be added in the same transaction
- Available as a website widget as well — see Accommodation Widget in your dashboard
This can be used in place of the existing calendar you may currently have linked from your website. Note that it isn't suitable for website Camping bookings.

POS updates
A new Restaurant table reservation option has been added to System > POS > POS Station Options, which sets the status of a station. Where a station is set to Restaurant table reservation, use Tour > Search to work with it. Table assignment now applies to Bookings only, not Orders — which keeps table management focused on the reservations that actually need a table.
The POS > Order search menu item has also been re-added.
Tooltips in Staff Roles Setup
Staff and Agents > Staff Roles Setup now shows a tooltip against each function explaining what it does. Setting up permissions for a new role is a lot less guesswork — you can see exactly what you're granting before you tick it.
Search improvements
Your searching options are now sticky — the filters and options you set stay put instead of resetting on you between searches.
Booking search will now also return cancelled bookings when you search by booking number, so looking up a specific booking always finds it, whatever its status.
Memberships
Membership bookings can no longer be moved by a member through My Account. Membership sessions are usually tied to specific staff, rooms or session times, so those changes are better handled by your team.
Reports
- POS > Order Delivery — a Completed column has been added, along with a switch to show only orders that haven't been completed
- POS > Customer Accounts — a Card column has been added
Fixes
- Guest profiles linked to a staff member or agent could be deleted — deletion is now blocked
- Booking and Certificate search now works across businesses where they're in a group — fixed
- The calendar file attached to booking confirmation emails has been updated, to reduce the incidence of delivery failures — fixed
- Accommodation channel bookings not setting the bedding type — fixed
